We’re a Chester based business ourselves, and we believe the city needs a comprehensive digital directory on an app to enable local residents and visitors to quickly locate and use the cities shops and services. We have developed this app over some years without any external funding. Over the past year, we have been populating it with as much information as possible. Operating on a not-for-profit basis, we are providing this app without any charge to individual traders or the general public.
We’ve trawled CH1 for every business we can find and set up a basic profile on the app for each. Over the coming months we will be working to complete the same process for CH2,3 and 4.
Opening Hours
Each profile has the business opening hours to enable customers to check if you are open. Your business is shown on our maps using a traffic light system.
Green: business open right now!
Red: business closed at the moment
Amber: business opening hours currently unknown
Business profiles
To ensure the app is as accurate as it can be from the outset we’ve created your business profile on the app directly from the information on your website. The directory lists your business in a suitable category, allowing people to find you when they search for by business type (eg: “pharmacies”) for example. This directory also supports finding you by street name (eg “bridge street”, or by business name eg “Currans”.
So to quickly find your own business profile - type in part of your business name on the directory page as shown in the screenshot opposite. If your business has premises in CH1 and you are unable to find it on the app, or you would like to change/disable your profile please let us know. Complete this short Form, or contact our help desk on 0800 612 9747.
Offers
Offers are displayed in the offers tab on the app. If we found a suitable offer on your website we will have replicated it on the app. Offers can help you reach a wider audience by searching for a key product or service. Every business can set up an offer, and it’s completely free to do so!
An offer can contain a link to a page on your website if required. Offers appear in the list in order of proximity to the app users current location.
The app user can search the offers for something they’re interested in, for example :- “pizza”, “cocktails”, 2 for 1”
If you want your offer to reward loyalty from your clients who make multiple visits then something like “buy 5 coffees get the 6th one free” may be the best way. We can set your account on the app to handle this for you, no more paper card stamping required.
Alternatively, if you have a quiet period where you’d like to encourage more customers, a conditional offer valid only on a particular day is a great idea. The offer can be set up to validate this for you.
If you also want people to find you for a specific product or niche your offer will need to be based around a keyword which relates to the product. For example – if you specialise in Indian cuisine and searches for “indian” – they will see your profile if your offer was “10% off all Indian meals”.
To be compelling your offer should be a genuine benefit for the app user, not just an advert for your product(s).
Offer redemption is simple, it’s all done by the app user - there’s no extra work for your staff to do. Offers are validated on the app by the customers scanning a QR code on an A3 or A4 poster in your premises which we provide for you free of charge. The customer then shows the “offer validated” app screen to your staff member. We can provide you with an email report of all offers redeemed each week.
